unresolving angina?

June 15th, 2010 by admin

in 2002 i was diagnosed with high BP and angina, put on treatment with hydrichlorothyazide and nifedipine, my BP was controlled but the pain did not go away, so they changed nif by amlodipine last yeasr but still no improvement, my pain is still there and i think it’s getting worse now, anyone can tell me what to do.

See a doctor regarding your increasing pain. Cut out fats. Try the diet by Dr. Dean Ornish. The diet is a bit extreme, but it has shown promise. Are you on cholesterol lower drugs such as statins?

You weren’t given nitroglycerin? That is typically given as support treatment for break through angina. If three sub lingual sprays 10 min apart don’t resolve the pain than see an MD because if could be something more than angina.?? Weird…see a new doctor this one clearly does not know how to treat your heart problem. Letting you suffer for a year with no relief is inexcusable.

well, you better consult with your doctor, this is a very serious issue.
but if you continued to have a real cardiac pain then you may add long acting nitroglycerine & I hope you are already on aspirin.
Otherwise this may be considered to be UNSTABLE angina for which you will need cardiac angiography & then go from there.

you may need by-pass surgery. it sounds like your arterys are getting clogged up. but dont let this scare you because ive had 7 by-pass surgeries. and i fell fine, and that was 5 yrs ago. they are good for 10 yrs. im 68 yrs old and ride my motorscycle, run, walk, etc.the drug amlodipine is given by ur dr. for crushing chest pain, resulting from a lack of oxygen in the heart muscle, due to clogged arteries. it will help ur bp, but if it fells worse, talk to ur dr.the longer u put it off the worse it will get. they do by-passes like pulling teeth. so dont be afraid. u will be fine. so talk to ur dr. about any fears u have. ill pray for u. god bless
